Processing Charges
Overview
The Journal of Contemporary Accounting and Finance (JOCAF) operates an open-access publishing model supported by Article Processing Charges (APCs). These charges help cover editorial handling, peer review management, production, hosting, archiving, and long-term digital preservation of published articles. JOCAF is committed to maintaining transparency in its fee structure and ensuring that charges remain affordable to support broad academic participation.
Article Processing Charges (APC)
Local Authors (Nigeria)
For authors based in Nigeria, the APC is structured as follows:
- Submission Fee: ₦7,000 (payable upon manuscript submission)
- Publication Fee: ₦30,000 (payable after acceptance for publication)
Total APC (Local Authors): ₦37,000
International Authors
For authors outside Nigeria:
- Flat Fee: USD 50 (This covers both submission and publication processes)

Authors are advised to clearly indicate the manuscript title or ID when making payments and to upload the proof of payment when submitting the manuscript (for submission fee) and upon request (for publication fee) for verification purposes.
What the Charges Cover
The APC supports the following services:
- Manuscript handling and editorial assessment
- Double-blind peer review coordination
- Copyediting and typesetting
- DOI assignment and indexing preparation
- Website hosting and online publication
- Long-term digital preservation and archiving
- Open-access dissemination of published articles
Refund Policy
- Submission fees are non-refundable once a manuscript has entered editorial screening.
- Publication fees are non-refundable once an article has been accepted and processed for publication.
- In cases of withdrawal before peer review, limited consideration may be given at the discretion of the editorial office.
Waivers and Discounts
JOCAF may consider partial waivers or discounts in special cases such as:
- Students with demonstrated financial need
- Authors from low-income institutions or regions
- Special editorial invitations
Waivers are not automatic and must be approved by the editorial board prior to submission.
